Qubic Motion Systems: Precision Actuators for Sim Racing and Flight

Qubic is a manufacturer of professional-grade motion systems for sim racing, flight simulation and training.

Every Qubic motion system is built around in-house electromechanical actuators that turn game telemetry into physical movement with almost no delay. Instead of only seeing braking, cornering and kerbs, you feel them through the rig, which makes every lap and every flight more immersive and easier to read.

Qubic actuators built for accuracy

At the core of every Qubic motion system are precision linear actuators. The QS-220 offers a 100 mm stroke, up to 800 mm/s velocity and 0.8 G acceleration, making it the choice for full-size rigs. The compact QS-210 delivers a 60 mm stroke, 400 mm/s and 0.6 G, ideal when space and quick installation matter. Both run with latency under 8 ms, a 1000 Hz control rate and a 0–100 Hz vibration range, so the same actuators reproduce large body movement and fine road texture.

A modular motion system from 2DOF to 6DOF

You do not need to buy everything at once. A Qubic motion system starts with an Intro Set of two actuators for 2DOF pitch and roll, and the optional pivot adds chassis rotation for 2.5DOF. An Upgrade Set then adds heave for full 3DOF, and further actuator sets scale the platform towards 6DOF. In a 3DOF QS-220 configuration, payload capacity reaches up to 350 kg in Heavy Duty mode, and the system runs on standard 115/230 VAC power.

Software and game compatibility

Qubic Manager, the free in-house software, controls how every Qubic motion system behaves. Adjust motion strength, bumps, pitch and roll, and use the washout filter and real-time diagnostics to see how telemetry drives each actuator. Qubic supports more than 80 sim titles, including iRacing, Assetto Corsa, Automobilista 2 and Dirt Rally, plus a range of flight simulators. Developers can also integrate through the Motion SDK, and dedicated brackets fit most aluminium profile cockpits.

Why choose Qubic

Qubic actuators are designed for smooth, quiet operation, and each motion system is proudly made in Poland, EU, with a two-year manufacturer warranty. Whether you are adding motion to a first rig, upgrading a single-seat cockpit or building a multi-axis training platform, Qubic gives you a scalable path from simple 2DOF to advanced multi-actuator setups, with the same software, the same build quality and the same low-latency response at every step.

**FAQ

What is a Qubic motion system and how does it work?

A Qubic motion system is a set of electromechanical actuators that moves your sim rig in sync with the game. Telemetry from the sim goes to the Qubic motion controller, the software filters it, and the actuators tilt and lift the rig to recreate braking, acceleration, cornering and bumps with latency under 8 ms.

How many actuators do I need, and what do 2DOF, 3DOF and 6DOF mean?

DOF means degrees of freedom. 2DOF covers pitch (braking and acceleration) and roll (cornering), 3DOF adds heave for bumps and kerbs, and 6DOF also adds yaw, surge and sway. Actuator count is not the same as DOF: a Qubic Intro Set uses two actuators for 2DOF, and an Extended Set with four actuators delivers full 3DOF.

Is a motion system worth it, and will it make me faster?

Motion is mainly an immersion upgrade rather than a lap-time upgrade. It adds the sensation of weight transfer, kerbs and grip loss, which many drivers find helps them feel the car. Most guides suggest tackling wheel, pedals and tactile feedback first and adding motion once the core rig is in place.

Which games and simulators work with Qubic?

Qubic supports more than 80 sim titles, including iRacing, Assetto Corsa, Automobilista 2 and Dirt Rally, plus several flight simulators. You can check a specific title or device with the compatibility tool on the Qubic System website.

How loud are Qubic actuators, and what power do they need?

Qubic describes its actuators as extremely quiet and smooth, and independent comparisons quote roughly 54–59 dB, similar to a PC fan under load. A 3DOF QS-220 setup runs from a standard 115/230 VAC single-phase outlet, with peak draw of about 1.5–1.6 kVA and average draw of about 0.7–0.9 kVA depending on mode.
