I'm an older and large guy, and the GTUltimate seat was not only wide enough to be comfortable, but after more than 3 hours for a Daytona 500 race I felt none of the leg pain I usually get after long sessions in other seats, including a real world race seat. Made the mistake of selling when I took a break from sim racing, but two years later I just had to have another one. Frame is strong enough to support me, at 130kg, or more, no signs of bending or warping. Reclining option allows for better seat set up, for individual preference, and never an issue with any part of the seat, supports, or mechanism. Never any issues getting in or out. Sliding mechanism made it easy to position it at a comfortable distance from the wheel.
Great seat, feels the real deal, belt helps with keeping body posture, improved the sim experience greatly!
The frame of this unit, and the way it attaches to the wheelstand, are perfect. The seat itself is less good. It feels cheap, the plastic covers for the recline levers don't fit and the recline mechanism is very flaky with an overly powerful spring and two release levers. The design of the seat itself is poor. The seat back is curved away from the spine, and in an effort to correct this there is a "lumbar support pad" which is a lump of foam with straps that suspend it in mid air because the straps are on the back of the lumbar pad but have to pass around the sides of the seat. The seat also has "wings" at the top, presumably to look like a racing seat with a helmet restraint. On a simulator this adds no value, but makes the seat far harder to get in and out of, isolates the user from their surroundings (and friends, when a group of people are playing) and makes the whole thing look far more bulky. It also comes with a seat belt, for use when *****? If the money spent on the seat belt and helmet catcher had be redirected to making the basic design and quality better, this would have been a great seat. The lack of quality unfortunately shows, mine squeaks badly after only a couple of months. The frame is great, but at some point I'll replace the seat with a "proper" one.
