Supercars Pro Eseries return in 2020: Bigger and better
There's even more! After the popularity of the BP Supercars All Eseries in 2020, and the Pro Eseries in 2019! The Supercars Pro Eseries has returned. Launched in 2018 and fiercely fought last year at the Melbourne Esports Open, 2020 promises to be crazy. Nine of the ten teams in the Virgin Australia Supercars Championship have confirmed their positions with Repo being named as the title sponsor.
The pro contest will take place in late October with a new title sponsor Repco after the end of Virgin Australia Supercars Championship at the Bathurst 1000. With Triple Eight Race Engineering, Tickford Racing, Erebus Motorsport, Walkinshaw Andretti Unified, Brad Jones Racing, Kelly Racing, Team 18, Matt Stone Racing, and Team Sydney all joining, with an additional nine current Supercars teams pledging to be part of the Repco Supercars Pro Eseries.
As a wildcard entry, Supercars driver Shane van Gisbergen has already announced his spot in the Supercars Pro Eseries. He's the new Virgin Australia Championship Supercars driver. And Shane is also the first All-Star Eseries Supercars champion. Anton De Pasquale, his opponent and second place winner, also has the opportunity to compete as a wildcard.
Supercars will run three-part drafting for teams who are yet to appoint a driver; five seats are projected to be filled. By uploading their best lap times on a virtual Phillip Island circuit, fans will be eligible to enter the draft. Registration and further data will be made available shortly.
This year's competition would include more than $26,000 in prizemoney.
