Microsoft Flight Simulator Japan World Update *UPDATED*

The trailer for the first free content update for Microsoft Flight Simulator- World Update I: Japan has been released by Xbox Game Studios and Asobo Studio. The new update includes an update of the skyline of Japan, and we believe similar updates for more countries will follow suit.

“A region rich with ancient tradition and bustling with future-facing innovation, Japan presents a stunning panorama of old and new, urban and remote, mountains, forests, cities and coastlines – now enhanced with remarkable graphical improvements that span the volcanic island chain,” wrote the team in the update’s patch notes.

Although Japan was already included via simulated renderings in the base game, the update gives the country a new layer of handcrafted detail. Japan also introduced updated optical height, six cities were upgraded to high-resolution photogrammetry, and six additional handcrafted airports.

In addition, the landscape has been updated and pagoda-style architecture can now be found on the entire map. Almost two dozen personalised landmarks and points of interest for players to explore on their flights are also available.
