(Source: Microsoft)
In addition to the upcoming Xbox Series X designed to compete directly with PlayStation 5, Microsoft has announced that it will also release an affordable and a smaller sized called Xbox Series S at a very reasonable price.
Rightly so, just hours after the photos were released, the release date and the price of both the anticipated Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S, Microsoft has announced it's time to publicly announce the Xbox Series S boy. Interestingly, we were told about the price of the Xbox Series S - $299 / £249.99 (around AU$400) Pre-order September 22, 2020, and Available November 10, 2020
What do we know so far?
Microsoft used its official Xbox Twitter account to announce the console-the smallest one ever, giving us an idea of the price point for the new-gen. So far, it is rumoured to have features including;
- Faster loading times
- Custom NVMe SSD drive
- Ultra-low latency
- Custom 512GB SSD
- Seamless game switching
- 4K media playback
- DirectX Raytracing support
- Variable refresh rate support
- Variable rate shading
- 1440P/120FPS support
- 4K upscaling for games
The other advantage is that the Xbox Series S will be able to use alternative storage options-at an extra cost to you-for example, an 1 TB optional SSD already revealed for the X Series.
